Welcome, all you writers, readers and friends.

Glad you took a moment to stop by.

I have been writing for most of my life, wrote my first book at thirteen, and as horrible as that first book turned out to be, it was the key to unlocking my door to freedom.

My first success story wasn’t a sale – it was a contest, and it was the SuperBowl of all contests. Writer’s Digest First Annual Popular Fiction Contest, and my story Saving Grace won Grand Prize. That was in 2006 and they printed it in the July issue. And they paid me $2500.00. Not too shabby for a first-timer.

There’s been many failures to every one of my successes, but in the grand scheme of things, I’d say even those failures have been a success. For more information on my work, and some nifty free reading, browse my publications.

So read on, fellow friends, feel free to check in on my blog every week, From the Desk of Petra, and if you feel so inclined, go ahead and drop a comment.

And check out some of my links where you can meet a few of my friends, not to mention a few noteworthy websites that might aid you in opening your own door to freedom.

As always, feel free to email me at any time.
